STEAM: Science and Arts
Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics play a crucial part in every student's learning journey. At Agora Lledó International School, we embed creativity in all activities related to these subjects, helping students learn how to make connections, how to organize their ideas, how to be creative, how to make decisions and how to work together across different disciplines.
Artists and scientists share the same skills, which is why at Agora Lledó International School we give a leading role to all the disciplines that embrace it. That is why we work with LEGO® Education SPIKE ™ Prime to provide our students with the best training in programming and robotics. Thanks to the software and activities adapted to the needs of each one of them, as well as to the specific training of the teachers, they will be able to learn the tools with which they will gradually advance in the exciting and intuitive world of the different programming languages.
Music and expressive arts are key to the integral development of children: they provide enormous cognitive and personal benefits, in addition to enhancing their communication skills. Music education favours the development and improvement of special talents, along with values such as effort and improvement, sensitivity, organisation or teamwork. At Agora Lledó International School, we give them a leading role in our educational project through our integrated music centre.
Agora Lledó International School counts on its accreditation from the Generalitat Valenciana to teach elementary artistic and professional music education. All our students learn to play at least one orchestral instrument (piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, bass, guitar, trumpet, clarinet ...) and, at the same time, they develop their vocal skills, they perform regularly in front of their classmates and parents and can be part of orchestra or choir groups of the school. Our school actively participates in concerts and auditions inside and outside the Valencian Community, as well as being an active part of the musical and cultural activity of our city.
Our Music Education Project aims to provide an active musical experience. Our students start with music in a sensory way in the Early Childhood Education stage and this knowledge deepens throughout Primary School Education when the study of a musical instrument begins and we encourage them to have contact with music practically every day. The school is an Authorised Centre for Elementary and Professional Artistic Education in Music, which allows its students to obtain the Elementary Music Certificate and continue their studies, on an optional basis and at a compatible time, to obtain the Professional Music Certificate.
The creative and performing arts are also of great importance in the comprehensive training of students, enhancing their intellectual abilities. Through the arts, children think for themselves and develop their creativity, imagination, artistic sensitivity and emotions. Thanks to the creative arts, we enhance creativity, discipline and both individual and teamwork.
In Debate, communication skills in public speaking and discussion in Spanish and English are encouraged and developed so that students can become confident, organised and respectful conversationalists.
