UPV Award for Julián de la Torre

Julián de la Torre came to Agora Lledó as a student at the age of 12, hand in hand with his mother, a teacher at the school since its foundation. Now, triple his age and with eight years of experience as a math teacher at the centre, he has received the best award a teacher can receive: the one awarded to him by his own students. This prestigious award from the Universidad Politècnica de València (UPV) places him as one of the 50 best professors in the Valencian Community and recognizes his work as a teacher and tutor of the 2nd International Baccalaureate students. His now university pupils have valued very positively Julián’s exceptional abilities, as well as his dedication, mastery of his subject, his patience, his involvement and, most importantly, his ability to motivate them.

The Excellent Teacher award is a prestigious recognition for one of the members of the school’s teaching staff, since the Polytechnic University of Valencia is ranked among the 500 best universities in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). The Excellent Teacher Awards are an initiative of the UPV, which aims to recognize the work of Secondary, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training teachers and highlight the importance that a good teacher can have when deciding the future of any person.
